Salem

Salem let me down with the lack of great foliage. It’s ok though. I just wanted to get the only bad thing out of the way.

We started our day off in this local sandwich shop. The people working knew we were from out of town. They were so nice. Hands down they served me the best chocolate chip cookie on the east coast. I also had their chicken avocado bacon ranch panini. Great experience overall. One thing all the locals keep talking about it how warm it is for this time of year. Which totally blows my mind because the cold weather here is amazing to me right now!!

We stopped by the Bewitched statue in downtown. It brought me back to my younger days watching nick at nite. After I took my photo with the statue. I was approached by a group doing a scavenger hunt. They wanted me to foot race their fastest person. I was down. Even though I was in pants. I smoked their fastest guy. They should have called me the flash.

We strolled through downtown. A lot of cool little shops! We found this witch mall. Literally every store inside the mall was witch themed. Tucked all the way on the other side of the mall was a random comic shop. It wasn’t anything special. Except for one of the owners was praising Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky. I asked her if she like Zdarsky’s writing. To my surprise she did! I’m usually defending his writing to my fellow comic book readers. That made me really happy.

Johnny and I were ready to head back to the car. We were standing on the main road. The local ferry was driving by. There was this beautiful blonde princess sitting on the edge. As they passed us. She looked over and winked at me. I grabbed Johnny because I didn’t what else to do.

Heading back to the car. Tommy and Timmy stopped at this magic parlor. Johnny and I pressed forward. We were hanging out by the car. This skateboarder wearing a pity sex shirt was skating by. I shouted him out. He was stoked. I told Johnny that I was surprised that I saw him again because he skated by while we were at the sand which shop. I told Johnny how cool it would be if we saw the blonde princess again. Johnny said that we would never see her again. Right as he finished his statement. A ferry turns the corner. We look at each other in disbelief because we didn’t think it was possible. Sure enough there she was, sitting on the same ferry as before.

The thing I was looking forward to most in Salem was checking out the Hocus Pocus film locations. We hit Max’s house first. It was at the end of the street. It looked so cool in person. We weren’t the only people there taking photos. This couple Tom and Katie were in Salem for their honeymoon. They were so sweet! I always felt cool whenever people would ask us where we were from. When we would tell them California their eyes would always light up. I couldn’t tell you how many time we were asked if we were a band. Next stop was Allison’s house. When we pulled up it looked like it did in the movie! It’s operated by the Peabody Essex Museum and open to the public! If you’re ever in Salem make sure to stop by and check it out.

Timmy really wanted to check out the old cemetery. We found parking on the street. As I was getting out of the car there were a group of girls taking pictures with their coffee. One girl with red hair stood out to me. I complimented her on her beauty. She reminded me of Lauren. I can’t wait to see her again. The old cemetery was old. We had dinner at Bella Verona. Great Italian food and great service. Would definitely go back.

The night is winding down. I’m in the living room of our Airbnb. I’m so sad that this is our last night here. I love being on vacation with some of my greatest friends. This trip was definitely one I’ll never forget. When I get back home I’m gonna upload all the cool photos I took from the vacation. So make sure to keep an eye out for that!
